RPGDice ======= Version 0.20 (September 2006) For Symbian 6.1/7.0s Series 60 : Nokia 7650, 3650/60, N-Gage (QD), 6600, 6620, 7610, 6260, 6670, 3230, Panasonic X700/800, Samsung SGH-D710/720/ 730, Sendo X and Siemens SX-1. Copyright (C) 2006 Roberto Colistete Jr. Introduction ------------ RPGDice is a freeware and open source program for RPG rolling dice. It is currently written in OPL for Symbian 6.1/7.0s Series 60. It is aimed to be used by RPG fans, but also to help the OPL community develop to Symbian Series 60 as its source code is available. Description ----------- Current features of RPGDice (v0.20): - RPG Dice with 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 and 100 faces; - 1 to 10 rolls at once; - it is still an OPO file, with manual installation, no icons, etc. Possible future features of RPGDice, i.e., the to-do list without any time ordering: - convert it to an APP program, with icon, etc; - insert a splash screen with a (free) dice picture; - create a SIS package; - create a log of all recent dice rollings; - port it to Python (Ramón, are you there ? :-) ), so newer Symbian 8.0/8.1 Series 60 smartphones would run RPGDice; - port it to Series 80 and UIQ if there is any interest; - do you have any other ideas ? Freeware version 0.20 for Symbian 6.1/7.0s Series 60. Release History --------------- Version 0.10 (07/2005): - first version for personal use and test. It should be released at this time, as the older Series 60 smartphones were more used; Version 0.20 (27/09/2006): - first public release to Symbian 6.1/7.0s Series 60 smartphones. Warning ------- RPGDice is supplied as is, and comes with no warranty. I accept no liability for any data that may be lost using this program. This software is freeware, open source and the source code distribution is provided under the GNU Lesser General Public License version 2 or any later version. Download Zip File Details ------------------------- Go the Internet site of RPGDice, www.RobertoColistete.net/RPGDice, to obtain the last version of the RPGDice zip file. The zip file for Symbian Series 60 should contain the following files: LGPL.txt (GNU Lesser General Public License) ReadMe.txt (this file) RPGDice.OPO (the RPGDice executable file) Source\RPGDice.oph (OPL include file in OPL Editor format) Source\RPGDice.opl (OPL source file in OPL Editor format) Source\RPGDice.tph (OPL include file in plain text format) Source\RPGDice.opl (OPL source file in plain text format) Installation ------------ Before installing RPGDice, the Series 60 OPL runtime has to be installed on your Symbian Series 60 device. You can obtain the "OPL-OS61-030.SIS" file from the OPL-Dev project site at http://opl-dev.sourceforge.net/oplseries60.html or the SourceForget.net Symbian OS OPL site at http://sourceforge.net/projects/opl-dev/ To install RPGDice, well, it is currently an OPO file (not an APP), so there is no icon, and you have to copy the "RPGDice.opo" file to somewhere on your smartphone "C:" or "E:" drive. For example, create a "E:\OPL" directory (recommeded place for other OPL softwares distributed as OPO files), and copy "RPGDice.opo" to it. Running RPGDice --------------- To run RPGDice, just open the "RPGDice.opo" file with a file manager (FExplorer, Best FileMan, Y-Browser, etc). I hope that you find RPGDice useful as a RPG user or an OPL programmer for Series 60. Suggestions are welcome. Acknowledgements ---------------- The credits go to Ramón Giostri Campos for suggesting this software, specifying its features, and testing on his Series 60 smartphones. Good news : Ramón will also release some software for Series 60, probably written in Python. I would like to thank the OPL-Dev team for supporting OPL on Symbian OS. The "S60 EventCore" and "S60 Phocal" source code were very useful, so thanks to Ewan Spence and Adrian Pemsel.
